From 14th–17th August, Brighton will play host to a brand new city-wide celebration of local beer and independent venues: The Brighton Locals Beer Festival.
Taking place across 27 venues and featuring beers from 15 local breweries, this four-day festival has grown out of the energy and enthusiasm sparked by our much-loved Verdant Beer Crawl. This time, the focus is firmly on what’s brewed, poured, and created right here on our doorstep.
The Brighton Locals Beer Festival is about more than just beer (though there’s plenty of that). It’s a celebration of independent venues, local breweries, artists, makers, and small businesses — and the community that supports them.
How the festival works
Joining in is easy.
Pick up a stamp map from any participating venue and start exploring the city.
Each time you buy a beer from one of the 15 featured local breweries during the festival dates, you’ll receive a stamp. The more stamps you collect, the more chances you have to win in our prize draw:
5 stamps = 1 prize draw entry
10 stamps = 2 prize draw entries
A full card = 6 entries in total
Stamp cards can only be stamped during the festival itself, from 14th–17th August. That said, we encourage everyone to start visiting and supporting these brilliant venues any time — they’re all well worth a visit year-round.
Entering the prize draw
Once your card is complete, you can enter the prize draw in one of three ways:
Take a photo of your completed card and tag us on Instagram (or send it via DM)
Email a photo of your card to localsbeerfest@gmail.com
Drop your card off at The Rook or The Independent for collection
What’s up for grabs?
While the real reward is supporting Brighton’s independent scene, every participating venue has donated something to the prize draw — from pints and meal vouchers to merch and more.
That means at least 27 prizes are up for grabs, with more details to be announced soon.
At its heart, the Brighton Locals Beer Festival is about discovering new places, trying local beer, and celebrating the community that makes Brighton such a special city. We hope you’ll join us for a few drinks, a lot of exploring, and a proper celebration of all things independent.
Huge thanks to the wonderful @don.brosbin for this year’s artwork. 💕
